Since it's March of Dimes month at my children's school, there are a number of fundraisers that are taking place. One of these include a plastic bottle cap drive. This seems simple enough. I really liked this idea since it's both green and helps an important charity. I figured I'd do some research to see how I could continue to collect bottle caps. Interestingly enough, a number of scams came up during my search. What?!Here's what I found:
- Recycle caps with Aveda -- this is strictly recycling. There is no charity involved.
- Ronald McDonald House collects aluminum pop tabs -- 400 million pop tabs = $4 million (Guess I should get to work on drinking some soda...)
- American Cancer Society had this to say. Interesting...
